			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Composite film is widely used as food packaging material due to its superior barrier property, impact resistance and other mechanical properties better than mono film. This article discusses the composite packaging film for meat products.</p>
<p>The compound fastness between the mono layers of the composite packaging film is measured by the peel strength, which is one main property used to evaluate the quality of composite packaging film.</p>
<p>In practical application, if the peel strength of the composite film is too low, delamination may occur to the film after the content is packed inside the package. As a result, the barrier property as well as mechanical properties e.g. impact resistance of the packaging material may be compromised.</p>
<p>This article provides a simplified test method for the peel strength of the aluminum plastic composite package for meat products. The test specimens are provided by one meat product manufacturer. The testing instrument we used for the tests is Labthink’s <a title="C610H Auto Tensile Tester" href="https://en.labthink.com/en-us/product/c610h-auto-tensile-tester.html" target="_blank">C610H Auto Tensile Tester.</a></p>
<p>The tests shall be performed according to the following procedures.</p>
<p>(1)    Cut specimens from the sample material along machine direction and transverse direction. 5 pieces of specimens for each direction. The size of the specimen should be 200mm by 15mm.</p>
<p>(2)    Peel the specimen from one end by 50mm along the machine direction as is shown in the figure below.</p>
<p>(3) Clamp the two ends of the peeled part of the specimen with the upper and lower sample grips. Make sure the longitudinal axis of the specimen coincides with the line of centers of the uppwer and lower sample grips.</p>
<p>(4) Set test speed, specimen width and other test parameters.</p>
<p>(5) Click Test to start the test. The system will record the peeling forces in the testing process, calculate and display the final test results automatically.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Blister packaging is one of pre-formed plastic packaging, which is featured with high barrier property and widely used for protecting products against external factors, such as humidity and contamination for extended shelf life. Blister package usually has a backing of paperboard or a lidding seal of aluminum foil or plastic.</p>
<p>In medical industry, blister packaging is commonly used as unit-dose packaging for pharmaceutical tablets, capsules or lozenges. The medicines are held in the blister cavities, which  are separated medicines from each other. Even though one blister cavity is broken, others can keep intact. Therefore, heat seal strength of the paperboard or aluminum foil should be adequate. Otherwise when one tablet or capsule is removed from the blister package, other blister cavities may be broken and then medicine may be oxidized and damped. Therefore it is necessary to test the heat seal strength of the medical blister packaging to guarantee the quality of medicines contained inside.</p>

Select test speed 200 mm/min and then start test. When test is finished, the instrument will calculate and record the test results automatically.</p>
